2013, Public Art Fund asked me to develop an idea for an outdoor sculpture for Freedman Plaza, south entrance of Central Park in New York City. My gallery Metro Pictures joined forces, and we started working on the concept. Together with curator Andria Hickey from Public Art Fund we went through my previous works and were inspired by the photograph “Clouds” from 2008. I was sure a large installation out of steel and aluminum would look great as an entrance piece of central park. Shortly after, 4th State Metals worked on the construction plans, and we started building them. After a few months of busy city life, the clouds went into the darkness of a storage facility. Until 2018 when they got sent to CASS Sculpture Foundation in Goodwood, Sussex, England. There they blended perfectly into the urban landscape. 2020 the Clouds crossed the Atlantic again and found a new home at Art OMI in Ghent, upstate New York. There they are, right by the entrance of the park. First thing you see when you drive in.
