NGV, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, asked me to do a show for kids. For the last few years, my work has focused on human influence on nature. I am a father, and I worry about future changes and their consequences for my daughter and humans. I had the idea to do a project to motivate youngsters to think about the planet and its future. When I grew up, no one told me about what our planet could look like in a hundred years with the careless usage of its resources. Some people would talk about global warming in the 70s, but it was not a discussion in the larger population. It is a different situation today, and giving the youth a playful warning and sensibility on their way makes sense. The fantastic team and I worked for over two years on realizing this show, and finally, it all came together. But COVID hit, and things got more complicated. Sadly, I could not attend the opening, which was rather frustrating. But the show was a success and the kids liked it and hopefully learned something.
