Compared with our ancestors, we live a comfortable life. We enter a room, turn on the light, walk to the fridge, and grab some ice cream from the freezer, followed by other benign activities. We all know (or some of us) that this comes with a cost—mainly exploiting energy resources to support our often unnecessary consumption. In other words, we have too much of everything. Some of us realize that and try to change it for the better. But it is a complicated endeavor that teaches us that we are an indirect part of it every time we want to avoid something. The photo “The Protesters” describes this problem that haunts us when making daily decisions.
