WE ARE SUCH ANIMALS

As advanced as we are as humans, as capable as our brains are, we have to deal with some biological building blocks as a part of our evolutionary journey. With all the rationality we organize ourselves, there are always uncontrollable urges bubbling up which shoot us out of balance. I am sure half of me is not that different from my cat following simple hunches such as “I am hungry; I have to eat something” or “The sun is too hot; I have to move into the shadow of the tree.” So much we wish that we were the species that has most of our free will decisions under control, so much we have to admit that we possibly have not a lot under control at all. We are just animals with the impressive cognitive potential to shoot a rocket to the moon.
